Emu oil for Babies & children

Cute baby posing

Delicate, natural & hypo-allergenic!

The best solution for your child's skin health

Infants skin can be delicate and sensitive as it adjusts to all of the new environmental elements they encounter in their first year of life. Prone to rashes, dry and peeling skin, bumps, pimples, eczema, nappy rash and cradle cap. Then as they transition from babies into children their skin needs can change again. Some of the most common skin issues in children are caused by them simply living and exploring their own environment. From bug bites to scrapes and bruises, to kids with more sensitive skin who have dry, damaged and irritated areas, as well as eczema, psoriasis and skin infections.

With no reported side effects, it can be safely used on dry, sensitive, reactive and compromised skin safely and effectively. With the added benefit of increasing wound healing and lessening scarring, you can feel safe knowing that your young ones skin is being taken care of.

A multi-purpose versatile remedy

A must-have addition to any nappy bag!

Emu oil is as good for your back as it is for your baby's skin. Why? Because one bottle of emu oil can replace the countless creams, balms, lotions and potions weighing down a nappy bag large enough that only a bodybuilder should be carrying it! Furthermore it will help free up valuable space for the more important things - like your daily coffee!

Emu oil's versatility lies within it's unique nutrient-rich and transdermal profile. It is made up of Omegas 3 & 6, vitamins A, D, E, F and K2, antioxidants, carotenoids, flavones, polyphenols, and phospholipids - all of which are important for skin health and healing. But what makes emu oil really special is it's similar fatty acid composition to human skin. This allows the oil and its nutrients to deeply penetrate all 7 layers of the epidermis to soothe, hydrate and heal baby's delicate skin.

How to use for best effect

Using our emu oil products

Emu oil: Shake well before use. Pour an adequate amount of oil onto your palm, depending on the size of the area. Warm the oil up by rubbing your palms together. Gently rub the oil onto the affected area up to 3 times daily for the relief of skin issues and general wounds, rashes and inflammation.

Skin repair cream: This is a great option for deep hydration, while healing and sealing the affected area with a thicker cream. Take an adequate amount of skin repair cream from the tub, gently rub the cream into the affected area up to 3 times daily for the relief of skin issues such as nappy rash, eczema and general inflammation. Unlike the oil the skin repair cream will take longer to absorb as it is designed to give you a protective layer over the dry and damaged area.

Frequently asked questions

Think of emu oil as an everyday gentle moisturising oil that can be used anytime of the day, it is especially good after the bath for topping up hydration and for a baby massage. Emu oil is the hero product in our range due to all of its amazing benefits which you can read here.

The skin repair cream is a thicker consistency and designed to deeply heal and seal the skin barrier, protecting it from outside environmental elements. The cream is best used in combination with the emu oil for a more active healing approach.

If you had to choose between the two products, we would recommend the pure emu oil, followed closely by the skin repair cream.

However, If you're after something to really combat compromised, damaged and eczema prone skin we recommend a dual action approach. By using the oil first and then applying the cream on top to form a barrier to protect your skin. You may be interested in our skin repair pack if you would like to use both.

Yes, our products are ideal for this. Infant skin is considered to be thinner, more fragile, sensitive and prone to irritation. Our OzWellness skincare products are very gentle yet nourishing all-natural products that contain no artificial colours, fragrances or chemicals. This makes them a great option to use on sensitive newborn skin.

If that wasn’t enough, our skin barrier relies on essential fatty acids to function properly and emu oil has a similar fatty acid composition to that found in human skin. This allows it to deeply penetrate all 7 layers of the skin, providing essential nutrients to help soothe, hydrate and heal affected areas from infancy through to adulthood.

There has been little to no reported side effects from using emu oil, however, we still recommend patch testing our products on your child’s skin.

Our OzWellness emu oil skin care products can be used daily with up to 3-4 applications as required. There has been little to no reported side effects from using emu oil, making it a safe option to use on an ongoing basis.

Yes, it makes for a great nut free gentle massage oil that will deeply moisturise and nourish your babies sensitive skin. It has the added benefit of having a similar fatty acid composition to that found in human skin, so will be easily absorbed without leaving your baby's skin feeling greasy.
